so there’s this sweet dorky girl from high school

but all of a sudden she did really well in orgo and joined a dance team

and now she’s all condescending and stuff

i told her good job at one of her performances

and she got all scoffy and stuff

and whenever we had exams she’d ask me how i did

and i am so amazed

and so in awe of His glory

and my lips cannot contain all the hallelujahs

and i’ll keep praising Him with every single breath i have

when things don’t go well

and eventually when they do

and there is just so much beauty i cannot describe.

so uh

there are these three well-dressed francophone dudes who i see at the hill center stop literally every day and i sort of maybe acknowledged one of their presences and subsequently they started talking about me and then we all got on the bus and i felt like singing so i did and then the two sitting behind me called their friend over and were like “yo she sings” but i understood but then i decided to pretend like i didn’t know what was going on and kept singing anyway and got off the bus and that was all just a bit odd.

i guess this was bound to happen eventually

this world is so full of coincidence. there are so many paths that should never have crossed, but did, be it after twelve years apart, after memories have almost dried up, or across almost ten thousand miles of ocean and culture and faces i’ll never see.

i hope He’s not just tossing dice. of course i’ll never know if He is. but it’s so easy to take the quantum view of things, to think of everything as coincidence and probability, while ignoring the One who is master over every possible outcome, the One who stands constant and constantly dynamic beyond a universe painted with smears, static, and empty space.

God, you’ve made everything so excruciatingly beautiful. thank You so much for everything You’ve given me to love, to learn, to appreciate. thank You forever.
